Lawrence, Kansas 66045 Analysis of changes in pineal hydroxyindole-O-methyltransferase activity during the
estrous cycle of the rat revealed that at least two rhythms may interact to create a
complex waveform with a beat frequency. The data suggest a role for the pineal gland
in the regulation of the timing of reproductive cyclicity.
