"Immunohistochemical localization of ESR1 (B) and ESR2 (D) in cryosections of testes from 15-day old rats. Specific immunostaining for ESR1 (using antibody against the aminoterminal region of ESR1, H184) was observed in Sertoli cells nuclei (solid arrows), Leydig cells (arrowheads), and peritubular myoid cells (asterisks). Specific immunostaining for ESR2 (using antibody against the aminoterminal region of ESR2, Y19) was observed in Sertoli cells nuclei (solid arrows), Leydig cells (arrowheads), peritubular myoid cells (asterisks) and some germ cells (open arrows). Negative controls were performed in the absence of the primary antibody (A) or with the primary antibody preadsorbed with the respective blocking peptide (C). Scale bar as indicated.
