Offspring were obtained for the fi rst time in a live-bearing fi sh by use of cryopreserved sperm. These fi sh are interspecies hybrids produced by artifi cial insemination of species within the genus Xiphophorus. The pigment pattern and other phenotypes verify the paternity of the hybrids.
