COVER: From "Timing of Nuclear Maturation and Postovulatory Aging in Oocytes of In Vitro-Grown Mouse Follicles with or Without Oil Overlay" by Ingrid Segers, Tom Adriaenssens, Wim Coucke, Rita Cortvrindt, and Johan Smitz. Biol Reprod 2008; 78:859-868. Published in BOR Papers-in-Press 9 January 2008; DOI 10.1095/biolreprod.107.062539. This oocyte has few polymerized tubulin (green), predominately at the cortex and around the nuclear membrane; the chromatin (red) is organized in a surrounded nucleolus conformation indicative of a fully grown oocyte. Cover design and layout: Jane Tenenbaum, Tenenbaum Design, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Biology of Reproduction is printed with soy-based inks on acid-free paper by Allen Press, Inc., Lawrence, Kansas.
